three wellington brands to shop + love

Wellington is a hub of creative independents, start-ups and sustainable companies doing amazing things. From chocolate makers, to clothing outfits and more, I feel incredibly lucky to have such beautiful brands on my doorstep.

Here are three of my favourites:

Lonely

“For women who wear lingerie as a love letter to themselves”
— Helene Morris, Lonely Designer

Lonely lingerie celebrates women in every form, for their strength and individuality here emboldened by their clothing, swimwear, and smalls. The brand's Wellington store is just as beautiful as its pieces are. Not in New Zealand's capital? Their Lonely Girls Project and Instagram account are both a revelation, showing that you don't have to be a size 6 to look and feel sexy.

Antipodes

It's hard to find natural skincare that actually does anything other than smell delicious. That's why Antipodes are a breakthrough with their innovative dreamy products made from natural and scientifically validated New Zealand ingredients. I love the Manuka Honey face mask, and their range of lipsticks - good enough to eat.

Kowtow

Kowtow are a minimalistic, sustainable clothing label whose Wellington flagship store is now officially open on College Street. Paired back with wooden interiors, it provides a serene shopping experience.

Everything Kowtow makes is beautifully woven from ethical life-lasting materials, with a process that's completely transparent from seed to garment. I was lucky enough to get to go to one of their sample sale last year, which was amazing!

  1. Just as a person's personality goes beyond his/her name, a brand identity extends beyond the corporate logo which most graphic designers and company executives have erroneously and solely ascribe as their corporate or brand identity Playboy Club
