About Me

I'm Jenny, a 25 year old culture fanatic and writer currently living in Wellington. In 2017 I left Leeds, a city I moved to from Brighton, to see the world, having lived in both Texas and Australia previously. I love travelling, and moving, and endlessly discovering new things, food, films, places, and people.

I started Paperback Thrones five years ago, when my head was stuck in paperbacks, graduation was looming and I was fretting over what to do with the Rest Of My Life. Since then I've been shortlisted for Best Young Blogger of the Year at the Blog North Awards, and I've worked with multiple brands and organisations, finding great joy particularly in discovering film festivals and engaging with the Great Outdoors.

What else to say? This little space of the internet has morphed over the years. It began as my university diary, then as my Guide to Yorkshire, and now it's become a reflection of my life in New zealand and beyond.

The title of my blog 'Paperback Thrones' comes from the Belle & Sebastian song 'Sleep the Clock Around.'

"In the morning you come to the ladies salon/ To get all fitted out for the Paperback Throne/  ..."There's a lot to be done while your head is still young"/ If you put down your pen, leave your worries behind/ Then the moment will come, and the memory will shine"
